Leadership Coach Chris Edwards Print E-mail

Chris went to boarding school in Sydney at the age of eight and grew to be a confident and fiercely independent thinker. He always maintained an interest in outdoor activities and enjoys a sporting challenge.

He admires people who, as he puts it; ‘turn up’. Chris is the youngest 'City To Surf Legend', having completed every City to Surf since 1971.

“We grew up with a philosophy that it isn’t the winning that is important, it is the taking part, but what I’ve discovered over time is, that it is the taking part that makes you a winner.”

Chris Edwards leadership coachBefore training as a Leadership Development Coach, Chris worked as a Communication Strategist and Creative Director, most notably in the advertising industry. He has over 20 years experience developing internal and external communication campaigns for clients such as; Microsoft, Volvo, Canon, Nissan, Linde, Castrol, Clarendon Homes, and many more.

Throughout most of the 1990s, Chris divided his time between bases in Kuala Lumpur and Sydney where he worked on strategies for clients in Australia, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

A contract to improve internal communication strategies within the Australian Taxation Office brought Chris to Canberra, and it was here that he decided to settle with his family.

Following the contract with the ATO, Chris took a position with the Australian National University in 2001 as a business analyst specialising in inter-cultural communication and multilingual computing.

Five years later, in July 2007 he founded Life7 with Canberra recruitment specialist, Janine Linklater.

Born and bred in New Zealand, Janine began a career in customer service with Ansett New Zealand before moving to Canberra with her husband and three month old son.

Janine LinklaterIn 1995, in need of childcare at home and seeing a need in the marketplace, she established Mary Poppins Nannies, a specialist recruitment agency, focused on ‘in home’ childcare. The focus of the company has changed to conference and corporate childcare. Under her direction, MPN remains one of  Canberra’s leading specialist recruitment agencies.

As the first point of contact for both clients and employees, Janine developed an exceptional understanding of people and personalities. Having managed staffing levels of between 40 and 80 childcarers at any one time, and interviewed thousands of prospective nannies and close to a thousand families, she has developed a fine tuned understanding of what makes relationship work.

Janine recognises that life is full of challenges and, in the management of her business, has been assisting clients and staff to address these issues.

A passion for personal and professional development led Janine to train as a personal development coach specialising in family and relationship development.

In addition to her role with Life7, Janine continues as Managing Director of Mary Poppins Nannies and plans to add significantly to the quality of early childhood development by training and coaching families and childcare workers in advanced relationship and emotional management as well as teaching staff and clients to better manage their 
work-life balance.
